Just a reminder that we are meeting at Patti's house on Monday at 10am to tie five small quilts. We hope you can join us and help to complete this task.
I spoke to Linda and learned that levels are very low on the following school supplies:
School scissors
Sharpeners
School Glue
Washable crayons (only washable crayons are allowed at the YWCA)
Markers
Since there are a lot of deals on school supplies, this is a great time to get the most for your money on these items. You are welcome to deliver to Heidi's house anytime.

Come tie quilts!
Patti has graciously offered some space at her house to tie five quilts for the Heart to Heart project. We are meeting on Monday, August 1st at 10:00 am to tie quilts. Even if you have no experience (like me), you can easily learn and help. If you have a quilt frame you're willing to bring over and set up, please contact Heidi.
Please come and help us accomplish our goal and finish these quilts so they can be delivered to someone who needs them.

Delivery
I made a delivery today of fleece blankets. Thanks to all who contributed fabric and snipped the edges. I love it when we work together!
If you see any Disney princess fleece, Linda could really use some blankets made out of that fleece.
Happy July to everyone! Summer is in full swing now.

Workshops and a Purple Cat
There will be no workshops until August. It's time to enjoy the summer with our families.
Linda is in need of a purple cat to complete a welcome kit for a child. If you have a stuffed toy like this or see one at the store, it would be wonderful.
While there are no workshops going on, there are still welcome kits being made. Donations are still welcome and can be dropped off with Heidi anytime you like!

90+ Degrees Outside
The first day this year to tip the 90 degree mark, and I am certain you are thinking about fleece, right?
Blizzard print fleece is on sale at Joann Fabrics from June 26 to July 16 at 50% off. That makes it just $4.99 per yard. One yard and a half makes the ideal size for a fleece blanket for our project.
Just wanted to let you know there's a deal starting soon.

How would you like to help?
Here's a chance to help on the Heart to Heart project!
We need a space where quilt frames can be set up to work on five small quilts that need to be tied. We can work on one or two at a time depending on the space available. We will need to coordinate some work times to tie those quilts, and it would be very handy to have someone there with some experience tying those quilts. The space and the experience do not necessarily have to be the same person.
We have a tote bag that needs to be replicated. We need somebody who can develop a set of instructions based on the prototype and run a how-to workshop so others can learn to make the tote bags.
If you are able to help with either of these things, please let Heidi know.

Current Needs
Here's the latest information from Linda. She has used the fleece blankets we tied last month at our neighborhood's night of service. A whole bunch of amazing welcome kits were assembled using them. The need at the shelters is great, and Linda is on record pace for supplying kits to the shelters in the valley this year.
These are the things that are currently needed or in very short supply:
