Last night we had an exciting evening where we kicked off the Heart to Heart Humanitarian Project. I think everyone who attended felt motivated and enthusiastic about the project. We actually had to turn the lights off to kick the real enthusiasts out of the church at 9:30!
If you missed the kick off, don't despair. We are joining forces to create welcome kits to shelters for women and children fleeing from domestic abuse of all kinds. We are thrilled to "knit out hearts together" with each other, with the people that we're helping, and with our Savior, Jesus Christ. If you're interested in seeing a DVD that explains the project, please let me know. The "Needs List" highlights the items that are put in the welcome kits. Hundreds are made every year.
Here are some pictures from last night:
This was an eventful night -- full of enthusiasm and warmth. Thanks to Sister Simmons and our fantastic Relief Society Meeting Committee for all their hard work. Heidi, you "kicked" it out of the ballpark at our kick-off! Every word you said was perfect. Charlaine and Bishop Munk, thanks for showing that DVD on the big screen. It made all the difference! Heather, your cookies were delish!!! Everyone, let's get the project going and make a difference as we give relief! This project is truly inspired! Love you all! Cindy
